Story of Marghshirsha Purnima-
According to the Marghshirsha Vrat story, there was a time when a poor Brahmin lived in a village. This Brahmin was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. Pleased with his worship and devotion, Lord Vishnu gave him a direct vision and asked him to ask for a boon. I am pleased with your faith. Then that brahmin asked Mata Lakshmi Ji for a boon to reside in his house. Then the Lord told him away: that the woman who prepares the pudding in front of the temple, you have to go and respectfully invite her to come to your house. When Mother Lakshmi will keep her feet at your house, then this poverty will be destroyed and money and grains will rain on you. The Brahmin asked the mother to come home the next day. Due to which the mother understood that Lord Vishnu had sent it, then the mother told that Brahmin that when Mother Lakshmi Ji will be completed by you, then she will come home. The brahmin fasted with full rituals and by offering argha to the moon, his fast was completed. Then the mother came to his house as per her promise. After which that poor Brahmin never lacked money. Since then the practice of observing this fast has been going on.
